For you interactionists (like me) out there, who believe that human nature is active and that we are able to decide whether to accept or reject what we are taught, have you ever thought that we might be subtly getting brainwashed? By innocent things like fairytales?
YES. FAIRYTALES TRANSMIT PATRIARCHAL IDEOLOGY. The damsel in distress, always a female. The rescuer, always a male. Cinderella was always in the kitchen. Snow White cleaned up after the dwarves.
WHAT IS THIS?
Yes, I agree that it’d be weird if a male was to be rescued by a female, but what I am curious about is WHY we would find this weird. When did this all start?
